European hospitals and universities join forces to study human-tech complementary in digital solutions

TechConnect, a Horizon Europe-funded research project that brings together leading universities, hospitals, and industry experts from across Europe to explore how digital technologies and human skills can complement each other in real-world work environments.

The project kicked off with a two-day meeting at Trinity College Dublin, where all partners gathered to align on the mission, methodology, and next steps. Over the next three years, TechConnect will dive deep into how technologies are reshaping the modern workplace—starting with 12 in-depth case studies in hospitals across Ireland, Sweden, Spain, and the Netherlands.

With a strong focus on skills development, technology adoption, and organisational transformation, TechConnect will deliver a range of tools and policy recommendations to guide industry, educators, and policymakers in creating a more connected, efficient, and human-centred future of work.
